As a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Rasmussen is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards in patient care possible.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, Dr. Rasmussen earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. This was followed by two subsequent residencies at UAB in Birmingham, ultimately specializing in Periodontology. In his last year, he served as the Chief Resident, which is awarded to only one resident in the program each year. Soon after, he received Board Certification through the American Academy of Periodontology. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care.
Dr. Rasmussen is deeply committed to public service and is working to expand access to care across the Big Bend. Due to his commitment to service, he was awarded the Public Service Award through the Florida Dental Association in 2025. This award is given to up to 3 dental professionals in the state of Florida each year for significant contributions to Public Service. Dr. Rasmussen also supports the next generation of dental professionals through an endowed scholarship at Tallahassee State College, where he also serves as an adjunct professor in the dental hygiene clinic.
When he isn’t busy at the practice, Dr. Rasmussen absolutely loves playing golf – he’d play every day if he could! He also grew up a football fan and still roots for his hometown Buccaneers, as well as his Alma Mater (the Gators, who sadly aren’t as popular here in Tallahassee).
